Virginia Tech sophomore linebacker Telvion Clark was dismissed from the team Tuesday for violations of team policies, according to a release.

Clark was arrested last weekend in Blacksburg and charged with public swearing/intoxication, according to the Virginia Courts Case information website.

According to records, the 21-year old sophomore from Norfolk was arrested Sunday for an incident that occurred Saturday. He has a hearing scheduled in Montgomery County General District Court in Christiansburg on May 3.

In Virginia, public swearing/intoxication is a Class 4 misdemeanor and carries a maximum fine of $250.

The 6-foot-1, 228-pound Clark had six tackles in four games last season as Tariq Edwards’ backup.

This is not the first time Beamer has disciplined Clark. He was one of six players sent home on a Greyhound bus for curfew violations at the 2011 Orange Bowl.
